Lydeard Occasional Table
The Lydeard Occasional Table was made as part of the 'introduction to machining' project at Williams & Cleal Fine Furniture School. On this project students learnt how traditional joinery and finishing skills can be complemented with the use of machines.
American Cherry is used with highlights in Ripple Sycamore for the drawer sides and Cedar of Lebanon for the drawer bottom. The joinery is very intricate as the material’s thicknesses were minimal and discrete, evident in the piece when physically touching and using it.
